Gibson was recently elected President-Elect of the American Association for Justice, where he will be one of six officers representing AAJ's 60,000 members nationwide. He also serves as Co-Chairman for the National Finance Committee for AAJ, and serves on other committees within the organization.

Gibson practices in the firm's Consumer Fraud and Personal Injury section, concentrating in actions against insurance companies and various other entities within the insurance industry. Gibson's clients include individuals, groups of policyholders, insurance agents (former and current) and small businesses who have claims against insurance companies. Before coming to Beasley Allen, Gibson worked for the Montgomery-based firm of Hawthorne, Hawthorne & Vance, where he was a partner.

While attending law school, Gibson was elected President of the Student Bar Association and received the Advocacy Award as the outstanding graduate of his class. After graduating from Jones School of Law, Gibson helped form the Jones School of Law Future Trial Lawyers Association. Gibson has been the president of the Young Lawyer's section of the Montgomery County Bar Association and a member of the Board of Directors of the Montgomery County Bar Association for several years. He was President of the Montgomery County Bar Association in 2005. He also served as the 2002 President of the Montgomery Trial Lawyer's Association and Chairman of the Executive Committee for the Alabama Trial Lawyers Association for 2002-2003. Gibson is the Past President of the Alabama Trial Lawyers Association. Gibson has also served as President of the Alabama Civil Justice Foundation.

Gibson is married to Kate Vance and has two children, Carter and Andrew.

Other Activities, Interests, and Memberships

Being heavily involved in the American Association for Justice, Gibson was recently elected Vice President. As Vice President, Vance will be one of six officers representing AAJ's 60,000 members nationwide. He also serves as Co-Chairman for the National Finance Committee for AAJ. Additionally, Gibson serves on the Budget Committee, Legal Affairs Committee, Marketing-Client Services Committee, Membership Oversight Committee, Public Affairs Committee and Key Person Committee for the American Association for Justice. He also serves on the American Association for Justice's Public Affairs committee. Most currently, Gibson has been presented by the AAJ's New Lawyers Division with The Joe Tonahill Award. He has received this award for his outstanding, dedicated services to and support of consumers and the trial bar. As an officer, Gibson was assigned to the National College of Advocacy Board of Trustees, Law Schools and Key Person Committees during American Association for Justice's 2008 Winter Convention held in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Gibson was recently appointed to the Alabama Judicial Compensation Commission by the Lt. Gov. It is a four year appointment. The five person commission is responsible for recommending to the Alabama Legislature the amount of compensation all state judges shall receive. Gibson has also been a speaker at many State Trial Lawyers Association conferences. He has spoken to the Kentucky Trial Lawyers Association, Louisiana Trial Lawyers Association, Florida Academy of Trial Lawyers, The Consumer Attorneys of California, the New York State Trial Lawyers’ Association, the South Carolina Trial Lawyers Association and many others. Gibson travels the country speaking on behalf of the Civil Justice Systems.
