While in law school I was awarded the honor of Order of the Barristers at ASU College of Law for my outstanding Moot Court participation and was also awarded the Law School's, Allen A. Matheson Award, for my service to the Law School.  While attending law school, I externed for the the Arizona Supreme Court's Staff Attorney's Office, The Honorable Mary Murguia in the United District Court in Phoenix Arizona, The Honorable Jon Thompson in the Arizona Court of Appeals Division One, and with the Honorable Barry C. Schneider in the Superior Court in Maricopa County.

My law practice at Hilliard Munoz Guerra focuses on catastrophic injury and wrongful death cases involving product liability, swimming pool drownings, 18 wheeler accidents, inadequate security, environmental litigation, and general negligence cases.  I pride myself in being "a voice for the voiceless" and making our nation and my community a safer place to live one case at a time.

In fact, my friends often refer to me as the "Texas Safety Lawyer" because of my involvement in cases that have resulted in making products safer by helping change many companies attitudes of "Profits before Safety" to making safety on the forefront of manufacturers and business owners.

What really motivated me to do what I do was seeing tragic situations on the news where people had ben the victim of corporate negligence, corporate indifference, and other peoples negligence and lack of concern or care for others.

My mother had always preached "do unto others as you would have them do unto you" and this really stuck with me.  I was motivated by her courage and will to stand up for minority groups and the oppressed and I wanted to take it up a notch by becoming a lawyer and true advocate for the "little guy".  I learned early on about the sacrifices a single mom makes when raising a boy into a man and what hard work and determination could bring to those willing to put forth the extra effort.

Growing up I was never afraid of the class bully and often found myself fighting for the under dog and those being bullied.  I am proud to be a plaintiff's attorney, as I am often called during depositions by the defense hoping to win some points with a conservative juror because I know that at the end of the day I can rest easy knowing I am on the right side of the legal fence representing innocent victims.

I had always wanted to be a trial lawyer as soon as I got my license to practice because I firmly believe that what is done in the court room by great trial lawyers is truly magical and the power that a jury holds is an awesome thing to witness.  I became a trial lawyer to make a difference.

I feel that the opportunity I have to sway the scales of justice when peoples lives have been destroyed, families ruined, and dreams lost by tragedy is a an honor I am blessed with and my life ambition.  I also have the honor of carrying the trust and faith my clients have in my abilities and talents to win their case and get them the justice they truly deserve.  More importantly, I have the job of getting the "truth" of what really took place involving their loved ones.

My clients choose me over other lawyers and firms because of the personal relationships I form with them and they know I truly care about their case and what they are going through.  I am one of the few lawyers who provides clients with my cell phone number and encourage them to contact me at any hour should the need arise.

In September 2009 I was named an Extraordinary Minority in Texas Law by Texas Lawyer magazine.

"Jesse did an outstanding job of resolving my case in less than a year and I highly recommend Jesse should you find yourself needing an attorney to fight for your rights. He was always available to me and he left no stone unturned regarding my case, more importantly he truly cared about me and my family and what we were going through."
Melissa Castillo-Former Client. (Castillo v. Paradise Bay Apartments LP and LDCM Inc.) Wrongful death case settled for a confidential and undisclosed amount after a minor child drowned in a swimming pool at the apartment complex pool.

It is my sincere hope that you read more about me and how I became the person I am today.
