Other Activities, Interests, and Memberships

I tend to keep very busy with my active law practice representing individuals hurt by the negligence of others. In addition to handling a full client load, I have been helping recently to run the business side of our law firm, handling financial, insurance, and banking issues. I also try to stay active with my various bar groups, including at the national level, the American Association for Justice, formerly the American Trial Lawyers Association. I attend at least one and sometimes two of their conventions each year and am especially active in the Railroad Law Section, as well as the litigation groups devoted to railroad crossing accidents/derailments and F.E.L.A. cases. I also am an active member of the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association, the Virginia Beach Bar Association and the Norfolk/Portsmouth Bar Association.

I try to get some exercise when possible, including regularly playing squash, doing yoga, and swimming. I also love to get up to the Virginia mountains for hiking or skiing whenever possible. Living in the Norfolk/Virginia Beach area provides great access to the ocean and the beaches as well.

Probably my most important activity is being the parent to three wonderful kids. I have twin pre-teen daughters and a teenage son. I try to spend as much time as I can with them, including playing basketball, reading, and playing chess.

I stay active with my Jewish synagogue. Our family are regular worshippers on Friday nights and Saturday mornings. The children all attend Sunday School and we enjoy our religious community at Ohef Sholom Temple in Norfolk, Virginia.
