I have practiced law in a variety of arenas, including as a commercial litigator, as law clerk for United States District Judges James C. Paine and Daniel T.K. Hurley, as an Assistant State Attorney, and as an Assistant County Attorney for Palm Beach County.
In 1990, I was privileged to have received the pro bono award in domestic relations from the Legal Aid Society and Palm Beach County Bar Association for his work on a complex divorce and domestic abuse case. Twice I have been named a Top Government Attorney by the South Florida Legal Guide.
I graduated cum laude from the University of Maryland, where I was also admitted to Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Kappa Phi honor societies. I graduated with honors from the University of Maryland School of Law, and was selected Notes and Comments Editor for the law review. I joined Searcy Denney Scarola Barnhart & Shipley PA in 1999, focusing on commercial litigation. I returned to the firm in 2006 after a three-year absence to spend more time with my family.
My passion to advocate for those who cannot help themselves extends to my community activities. I have served as president and as a director of Hope House of the Palm Beaches, and I speak frequently at public events on behalf of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. I am currently a member of the Board of Directors for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Palm Beach County.
