Mr. Mackey
focuses his practice on civil trial litigation, the overwhelming majority of
which involves representing plaintiffs. Currently, his caseload centers on
personal injury, wrongful death, nursing home negligence, business and consumer
torts, construction cases, employment disputes and insurance matters. Mr.
Mackey is a member of the American and Alabama Associations for Justice, the
South Alabama Trial Lawyers Association, the Alabama chapter of the National Employment
Lawyers Association, the Alabama Bar Association and the Mobile Bar
Association. He has been admitted to practice in Alabama and in the Fifth and Eleventh
Circuits.
Mr. Mackey
is an "AV" rated lawyer by Martindale-Hubbell - the highest rating a
lawyer can receive. He is also board certified as a Civil Trial Advocate by the
National Board of Trial Advocacy, and is certified as an Alabama Mediator. Pete understands that no prospective client
walks into his office to tell him what a great day they have had. His goal is
to help these folks get through this tough period and understand that our court
system does work.
Mr. Mackey
graduated from the University
of Alabama in 1978 and
Cumberland School of Law, Cum Laude, in 1983. While at Cumberland, he was an Associate Editor for
the American Journal of Trial Advocacy and was a member of Curia Honoris. After
graduating, he clerked for the Honorable Emmett R. Cox, then a United States
District Court Judge (now on the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals).
