Hello, I am a family physician practicing in Republic Missouri. I have just completed my 20th year in practice. I spent three years of my career working full-time in emergency room's, small to medium volume ER's in North Carolina and Arkansas. I spent another 10 years moonlighting part time in the ER while having a full-time office practice as a family physician. I have active licenses in the state of Arkansas and Missouri, inactive licenses in North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee.
I grew up in the small town of Wynne Arkansas. I'm the oldest of three brothers, all of us were very active in sports. Our father, who is a practicing attorney, was a college football coach when we were young, before going to law school. Sports and competition have always been a big part of our lives. My brother Paul, the middle son, is an attorney in Jonesboro Arkansas. My youngest brother, Barry, is a family physician in Little Rock. I have two daughters, Rebecca is 22 and getting married this year. Sarah is 20 and finishing her second year of college.
Several years ago my father and brother asked me to look at some medical malpractice cases. I did this off the record since we were family. However, it raised my awareness of the difficulty that attorneys have finding a credible, local physician to serve as an expert witness. I agreed to review a few cases for some attorneys, and have continued to do so on a limited basis for the past 10 years. My brother has asked me to do some blogging on his site, which is the reason I am here. I would be happy to work as a consultant in the area of family practice or small volume emergency room cases.
