Gary K. Shipman is Senior Partner in the Wilmington, North Carolina firm of Shipman & Wright, LLP, where he specializes in complex litigation, including professional negligence, products liability and consumer class actions. He is a 1977 graduate of UNC-Wilmington and a 1980 graduate of Campbell University School of Law, where he was named their Most Outstanding trial advocacy student. He is a Board Certified Civil Trial Specialist by the National Board of Trial Advocacy, listed in "Best Lawyers in America" and "Super Lawyers" for North Carolina and has tried more than 120 jury trials to verdict. A frequent lecturer for various continuing education organizations across the country, he is a member of AAJ, the Southern Trial Lawyers Association and the North Carolina Academy of Trial Lawyers, where he serves on the Education Committee. He has served as Lead or Co-Lead Counsel in class actions involving building products, tires, consumer fraud and lender liability.
Mr. Shipman is married to his wife, Mary Jo (an interior designer) and has three children: Brandon, Khale and Bryce.
