The U.S Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reported Thursday that dozens of passengers aboard another Caribbean cruise ship have fallen ill due to a gastrointestinal disorder. Nearly 115 passengers and three crew members aboard P&O Cruises' Oceana have developed a Norwalk-like virus, the third cruise liner in one month to report an outbreak. In November, 160 passengers aboard Holland America's Amsterdam contracted a similar Norwalk-like virus during a 10-day Caribbean cruise. The disorder, which is spread through food and water, as well as human touch, and causes vomiting and diarrhea for up to 48 hours, is also suspected in a recent outbreak aboard Carnival Cruise Line's Fascination.

The Oceana left Fort Lauderdale on November 29 and is scheduled to return to port December 13. According to initial CDC reports, most of the ill passengers aboard the Oceana were on the same chartered flight from England before departing on the vessel.
