Asbestos Case Settles for $5 Million

A man who developed mesothelioma from exposure to asbestos at his workplace settled a lawsuit with the office building's owner for $5 million. The plaintiff alleged Business Men's Assurance Company knew asbestos-laden dust that accumulated on the building's ceilings was harmful yet hid this information from employees inside the office. The man claimed he contracted the disease due to twenty-one years of exposure to asbestos-based fireproofing material sprayed inside the building.
