A California nursing home has agreed to pay nearly $1 million to the family of a 92-year-old man who died due to neglect at the facility. According to the lawsuit, in June 2001, doctors discovered Angelo George at Cedar Manor Homes in Vista malnourished and severely dehydrated. Insects had reportedly crawled into George's mouth and hair. An Alzheimer's patient, George was suffering from pneumonia, septic shock and severe muscle wasting. He died a week later. George's family filed suit against the home and its owner for negligence.
