More than 100 people were injured Sunday when two tour buses collided along a California highway. According to authorities, the accident occurred on Interstate 15 about 80 miles southwest of Las Vegas when a bus owned by Hebaragi & Lemi Bus Inc. braked suddenly and struck a car in front of it. A Gold & Silver Charter Bus Inc. vehicle, reportedly traveling at 55 mph, subsequently rear-ended the Hebaragi & Lemi bus, injuring dozens of passengers, eight critically.

California Highway Patrol officers, who have not determined a cause for the crash, said more than 40 people were hospitalized. Southbound Interstate 15 was shut down for five hours.
