CSX Transportation recently settled a lawsuit with the family of a 15-year-old boy who was killed when a coal train derailed and crashed into his home. The 80-car CSX train slammed into Eddie L. Rogers' house at close to 60 mph, spilling several tons of coal in the process. Asleep on his living room couch, Rogers suffocated under the coal. Investigators with the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) found that the
train's braking system had failed. CSX agreed to pay the teen's family $4.7 million.
