DaimlerChrysler AG's Chrysler unit announced yesterday that the company is recalling 500,000 minivans because of a misplaced part that may affect airbag deployment as well as cruise control and horn systems. The recall involves 1996-1998 model year Dodge Grand Caravan, Dodge Caravan, Plymouth Grand Voyager, Voyager and Chrysler Town & Country models. The part, called the "clockspring," may affect the driver's side airbag and disrupt the operation of horn and speed controls. One accident involving injury has already been attributed to the misplaced part.
