Warner-Lambert, a pharmaceutical company that recently merged with Pfizer Inc., is breathing a sigh of relief this week after winning the first trial involving complications associated with the diabetes drug Rezulin. The family of Norma Culberson, who died two years ago after taking Rezulin, was seeking $25 million in damages from the drug maker. Attorneys for Warner-Lambert, though, successfully demonstrated that Culberson died from renal and kidney problems and not from Rezulin induced liver failure.
