A Florida jury awarded a Jacksonville woman $1.75 million yesterday for injuries she sustained in an airbag related accident. Irene Tyson lost her left eye during a minor collision when the passenger-side airbag in the Ford Windstar her husband was driving inflated and struck her face. Plaintiff attorneys, who claimed the Windstar's seat had a
design flaw and placed passengers too far forward, said the
airbag inflated too quickly. Ford Motor Co. will not appeal the decision.
