Relatives of family members who died on Alaska Airlines Flight 261 want more answers as to why the flight crashed on January 31, 2000. Boeing, though, is asking a federal judge to limit the amount of information the company must provide to relatives of the deceased.
Attorneys for the plaintiffs claim that more information is needed before they can continue with their lawsuits. Plaintiff attorneys say Boeing and Alaska Airlines "don't want any discovery to occur." Alaska Airlines says it has offered to pay damages and shouldn't be responsible for supplying any further information.
Currently, 65 lawsuits are pending against the companies while 23 others have been settled. Lawyers for the families say that a full trial may be the only solution.
