A Florida man who says he suffered seizures and went into a coma after being exposed to malathion filed a lawsuit Friday against the chemical's manufacturer. Stanley J. Lupa III was surveying land in Tampa on June 14, 1997 when he was sprayed by a plane carrying the pesticide. Within two days of exposure, Lupa, 34, suffered the severe side effects. The man sued the Danish makers of malathion, Auriga Industries A/S, Cheminova A/S, and their United States subsidiary, Cheminova Inc. of New Jersey.
