Northwest Airlines settled a racial discrimination lawsuit last week when the company agreed to pay $280,000 to twelve minority employees stationed at Dulles International Airport. The suit, filed by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), alleged the workers were regularly subjected to racially offensive language. The lawsuit also claimed that the employees were either fired or faced further harassment after complaining to company managers about the abuse. The U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia approved the settlement Friday.
