A parasail operator involved in an accident that killed a Kentucky woman and her daughter has regained his operating license, sparking controversy among parasailing watchdog organizations. Fort Myers Beach, Florida issued Chris Schaab, owner of AA Parasail, a new license last week, four months after Lisabeth Hope Bailey-Straney and her daughter Taylor Straney fell almost 20 stories to their deaths when Schaab's parasail harness snapped.

AA Parasail's license was suspended after the accident. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and the U.S Coast Guard, both in charge of the investigation, reportedly did not object to the recent license renewal.

Parasail watchdogs groups such as the Parasail Safety Council are upset by the decision. Mark McCulloh, chairman of the council, says that his preliminary investigation revealed "a pattern of irresponsible conduct by AA Parasail."
