A Maui jury ruled against a plastic surgeon earlier this week in the case of a former professional bodybuilder who alleged the physician improperly performed breast implant surgery on her. Before the procedure in September 1997, Sharon Johnston asked Dr. Larry Schlesinger to place implants underneath her chest muscle rather than over it. After the surgeon mistakenly inserted the implants over her muscle, Johnston filed suit against Schlesinger. In her complaint, Johnston also alleged the doctor falsified records in the days after he performed the operation. The Maui Circuit Court jury awarded Johnston $864,500.
