Four people who claim they were the victims of racial discrimination at a North Carolina Waffle House in July of 2000 have filed a Federal lawsuit against the restaurant. The suit alleges white employees mistreated the African-American patrons. Kenneth Parker claims a waitress spilled water on him and failed to offer a towel. When Parker asked for an apology, the server allegedly called him a "monkey." Eddie Brown says another waitress intentionally spilled coffee on him while he sat at the counter waiting on a takeout order. When it arrived, the waitress allegedly threw the takeout container in his lap. Two other plaintiffs say a security guard told them not to enter the restaurant even though seats were available and white customers were allowed in soon after.
