Investigators hired by the owner of the Riverside Amusement Park have concluded that an accident which injured eight park patrons was the result of a bizarre coincidence. Attorneys representing those injured question the impartiality of the investigation.

Park officials determined that the raft overturned about 50 feet from the ride's end, trapping the riders underwater. Park officials claim that help arrived within one minute. It took several minutes to free the victims from the raft.

Investigators explained that the accident occurred when the raft lodged onto two underwater rails, an occurrence previously thought impossible. The raft overturned after colliding with the following raft. The park has subsequently modified and reopened the Blizzard River attraction.
