Rezulin Case Settles After $43 Million Verdict

Last week a sixty-three-year-old woman settled her lawsuit against Pfizer, ending the second Rezulin case to go to trial. A Texas jury awarded $43 million in compensatory damages but Margarita Sanchez decided to settle with Rezulin's manufacturer rather than endure months of appeals. Sanchez claimed the diabetes drug destroyed her liver. Rezulin has been linked to sixty-three liver failure related deaths. Pfizer faces over 4,000 additional Rezulin claims.
