A new study, published in the CDC’s Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report, estimates that three in every 1,000 children in the United States suffers from Tourette’s syndrome. That’s a total of 150,000 cases in the country.

Mike Tyson's four-year-old daughter is on life support after a treadmill accident Monday.   With more than 25,000 exercise equipment accidents each year, the Consumer Product Safety Commission reports more than a quarter occur to children under the age of five.

In this Harvard study, 77 students drank cold water from stainless steel bottles made without BPA.  The following week they drank water from plastic bottles made from BPA, a plasticizer, and a 69 percent increase in the chemical was found in their urine. This study confirms for the first time the endocrine disruptor leaches into humans.

A face paint generally used by kids at parties, is being voluntarily recalled by the manufacturer after FDA lab tests found a high mold and bacterial count and children reported rashes and swelling from its use.

Lead levels in the blood of youngsters has reached a 20 year low, according to a CDC report.  The 84 percent drop in lead levels in youngsters is reminiscent of levels not seen since the 1970s when lead was removed from gasoline and paint.

The U.S. lags behind the European Union in regulating chemicals dumped into the environment. A new book by the Center for Investigative Reporting, says while the U.S. has registered about 80,000 chemicals for use, the UK requires they be assessed for their potential toxic effects.

Thousands of parents of autistic children received news today that a special vaccine court denied three families seeking compensation. The court ruled the families did not convince the court the measles, mumps and rubella vaccines caused their children's autism.

The birth of octuplets this week was initially heralded by the media and medical community, but now the tough questions are being asked with few answers.  Who funded this fertility treatment and how will the woman and her family be able to afford the children after it was revealed she already has six at home.   Medical ethicists says professional guidelines would not have allowed this to happen.
