Two U.S. senators have filed new legislation aimed at initiating a recall and imposing an immediate ban on importing “tainted building products from China." The tainted Chinese-made drywall has been creating problems in homes from Florida to Louisiana.

Matchbook covers with grisly pictures of the impact of smoking on a body are all part of the latest anti-smoking campaign in NYC. The messages on the side of cigarette packs haven't changed in 20 years. Other countries put the grisly pictures on the pack.

Simplicity is recalling a 4-in-1 and 3-in-1 bassinet after two infants strangled between folding cloth and the bars.  You are encouraged to return the item to the store where you purchased it. Unfortunately, the majority of used and dangerous baby items remain in circulation.

Sunscreens need to be tested and labeling should include information on UVA protection, says two lawmakers who are pushing to have the FDA come up with final rules, so manufacturers can update labels and testing. Without that, consumers are largely left in the dark, assuming their product protects against the damage of all of the sun's rays, when it may not.

A suit has been filed against five baby bottle makers who use the chemical bisphenol A (BPA) in their products.  The suit, filed by four Ohio parents, claims that the companies knew that bisphenol A was correlated to certain health problems.

The FDA is reissuing a stronger warning that parents should not give over-the-counter cold medications to children under the age of two. Too many children are being accidentally overdosed and a number of deaths are on record.
