Ten people required medical treatment following the derailment of an Amtrak train near Sabula, Missouri. The train, bound for Dallas, left Chicago with 174 passengers and 12 employees but derailed at 2:17 a.m. in a rural area where recent heavy rains may have damaged the tracks. Three cars and one engine derailed, landing on their sides. The ten passengers requiring medical treatment had only minor injuries.
