A Bexar County, Texas jury recently awarded $1.6 million to an attorney who suffered severe injuries in an automobile accident. Marion T. Carson was a passenger in Bernard Tallerico's Corvette on November 7, 2000, when Tallerico lost control of the sports car on a San Antonio road and slammed into an oak tree and an iron gate. Carson, 63, suffered acute, permanent hearing loss in both ears as well as a severe cranial bruise when his head broke out of the Corvette's passenger-side window. Carson filed suit against Tallerico, alleging he was responsible for injuries he sustained in the accident.
