The children of an 86-year-old man who died of pneumonia at a Texas nursing home in November 2001 have filed a lawsuit against the facility's operators. Reyes Uresti, a stroke victim, was a resident at Friendswood Arms Convalescent Center outside of Houston when he was accidentally left in a shower overnight. Housekeeping found Uresti the next morning in the shower strapped to a geriatric lounging chair dressed in only a thin hospital gown. He died of pneumonia days later. Uresti's six children have filed the suit against the Friendswood center, alleging false imprisonment and negligence.
