What should have been a joyous wedding day turned into a nightmare for one Florida family. Barbara Gould, the 62-year-old grandmother of the bride, was killed outside the wedding hall when a 14-ton Mack truck collided with the car she was riding in. 18-year-old Christina Hatch was driving Gould and her 14-year-old brother James to their sister Jami's wedding. Christina turned left in front of the oncoming truck that did not have time to stop.

The accident happened directly in front of the wedding hall, where dozens of white chairs and a beautifully decorated gazebo awaited the bride and groom. Christina was treated for minor injuries and released from Lee Memorial Hospital. James was listed in fair condition one day after the accident.

Jami Hatch, 19, and her groom-to-be Justin Murphy, 20, immediately cancelled the wedding and hurried to the hospital.

Ernesto Hernando, 32, a Fort Myers-based truck driver was in shock following the accident. He did not have time to react to the car pulling in front of him.
