A two-year-old boy drowned Wednesday when he fell into a closed community pool in a Jacksonville, Florida apartment complex. Jimmy D. Willis was visiting his grandmother at the time. According to Jacksonville police, Jimmy's father left him at his grandmother's apartment. When the father returned, he could not find the boy. He was found floating in the pool at 6 p.m. that night. Attempts to revive him were unsuccessful.

Johnnie Galagher, the complex's regional manager, expressed sorrow for the family's loss. He claimed that residents were sent notices last week that the pool would be closed until further notice. He noted that the pool was surrounded by a locked chained link fence.
