Environmental activist group The Sierra Club announced yesterday that it has filed suit against Tyson Foods for the failure to clean up waste from four chicken farms in Kentucky. According to a Sierra Club spokesperson, the chicken producer is also releasing more than the allotted 100 pounds of ammonia per day from the facilities and has polluted at least three counties in the state as a result. Local residents have already brought legal action against Tyson over the smell emitted by the chicken farms.
