UN: Pesticides Must Be Removed

The United Nations (UN) announced recently that over 500,000 tons of deteriorating pesticides in countries around the world must be cleaned up immediately in order to avoid serious environmental and health problems. As the substances age and deteriorate, they may release chemicals that are even more toxic than the original pesticide. These chemicals are hazardous to human health and may leak into the ground contaminating water and soil.
