WaterWorld USA officially reopened today, two weeks after a waterslide collapsed, killing 1 and injuring 32. The accident occurred when high school students, on their senior class trip, tried to set a school record for the most people on the slide at the same time. Tragically, the attraction buckled and fell nearly 40 feet to the ground.

WaterWorld has subsequently employed safety consultants to examine all of the park's rides.

Napa High School dedicated its graduation ceremony to Quimby Ghilotti, the student killed in the accident. Two students received their diplomas on stretchers while several others did so from wheelchairs.
