In a case similar to the California dog mauling trial that ended yesterday, authorities charged a Wisconsin couple in the death of a ten-year-old girl brutally killed by six Rottweilers. Alicia Lynn Clark was visiting a friend on February 14 of this year when she was suddenly attacked by the animals. Her friend's mother, Shanda McCracken, and her mother's boyfriend, Wayne Hardy, were not home at the time of the attack.
Investigators charged McCracken and Hardy with homicide resulting from a vicious animal, reckless endangerment and child neglect. Witnesses told police the dogs were extremely aggressive. Authorities discovered chewed furniture and dog feces scattered throughout the house. Alicia's parents, James Clark and Tammy Shiflett, have filed a wrongful death suit against the dog owners and Juneau County for failing to investigate several complaints filed about the dogs.
