A maritime accident in the Gulf of Mexico killed a fisherman at the end of August. The fishing boat was about 12 miles south of South Padre Island, Texas when the accident occurred. His body was recovered by the United States Coast Guard. After falling 20ft in a rig accident, an offshore rig worker has been airlifted to the hospital with severe head injuries.
