Avelox / Moxifloxacin Hydrochloride

Avelox is an antibiotic manufactured by Bayer and approved by the FDA in 1999. Avelox is used primarily to treat bacterial infections associated with the lungs and sinuses such as community acquired pneumonia, sinusitis, and bronchitis. Avelox has been prescribed to over 300,000 patients since its approval.

Critics have questioned the drug's safety because of its tendency to prolong the heart's "QT interval," a potentially deadly problem. At least eighteen patients taking Avelox have died as a result of a prolongation of the QT interval.

See your doctor if you have experienced serious side effects associated with Avelox. In addition, it may be important to contact an attorney who can help you protect your legal rights. Please keep in mind that there may be time limits within which you must commence suit.
